The overall external trade in the Republic of Serbia for January – June 2026 amounted to:
- USD 46238.2 million - which was an increase of 13.0% compared to the same period last year;
- EUR 39650.5 million - which was an increase of 5.8% compared to the same period last year.
The value of exports amounted to USD 20954.3 million, which was 15.7% increase when compared to the same period last year, while the value of imports amounted to USD 25283.9 million, which was 10.9% increase relative to the same period last year.
Expressed in Euros, the value of exports amounted to EUR 17971.4 million, which was 8.3% increase, compared to the same period last year. The value of imports amounted to EUR 21679.1 million, which was 3.7% increase when compared to the same period last year.
The deficit amounted to USD 4329.6 million, which was a decrease of 7.9% in relation to the same period last year. The deficit expressed in Euros amounted to EUR 3707.6 million, which was a decrease of 14.1% compared to the same period last year.
The export - import ratio equalled 82.9% and was higher if compared to the same period last year when it was 79.4%.
The external trade in the reference period noted the highest level with the counties with which we have signed agreements on free trade. European Union member countries account for 58.7% of total external trade.
Our second major partner refers to the CEFTA countries, since our gained surplus in external trade amounted to USD 1852.0 million, resulting from the exports of cereals and produces thereof, beverages, road vehicles, medical and pharmaceutical products, electrical machines and apparatus. Our exports in the referent period amounted to USD 2764.1 million, while the imports were USD 912.1 million. The export– import ratio equalled 303.0%. Expressed in Euros, exports amounted to EUR 2370.6 million and imports to EUR 782.2 million (surplus amounted to EUR 1588.4 million and export – import ratio equalled 303.1%).
