The Council is, as an integral part of the official statistics, an expert advisory body, which primarily deals with strategic issues, that is, considering and giving opinions on: development strategy of the official statistics; developing a five-year program and annual statistical survey plans; the needs to conduct the censuses; standards; methodologies, etc.
