External trade, May 2026


The overall external trade in the Republic of Serbia for January - May 2026 amounted to:

   - USD 37836.5 million - which was an increase of 12.5% compared to the same period last year;

   - EUR 32376.3 million - which was an increase of 3.9% compared to the same period last year.

The value of exports amounted to USD 17174.1 million, which was 16.6% increase when compared to the same period last year, while the value of imports amounted to USD 20662.4 million, which was 9.3% increase relative to the same period last year.

Expressed in Euros, the value of exports amounted to EUR 14698.5 million, which was 7.7% increase, compared to the same period last year. The value of imports amounted to EUR 17677.8 million, which was 1.0% increase when compared to the same period last year.

The deficit amounted to USD 3488.2 million, which was a decrease of 16.5% in relation to the same period last year. The deficit expressed in Euros amounted to EUR 2979.3 million, which was a decrease of 22.9% compared to the same period last year.

The export - import ratio equalled 83.1% and was higher if compared to the same period last year when it was 77.9%.

The external trade in the reference period noted the highest level with the counties with which we have signed agreements on free trade. European Union member countries account for 58.8% of total external trade.

Our second major partner refers to the CEFTA countries, since our gained surplus in external trade amounted to USD 1496.3 million, resulting from the exports of cereals and produces thereof, road vehicles, beverages, medical and pharmaceutical products, electrical machines and apparatus. Our exports in the reference period amounted to USD 2242.4 million, while the imports were USD 746.1 million. The export– import ratio equalled 300.5%. Expressed in EUR, exports amounted to EUR 1919.0 million and imports to EUR 638.6 million (surplus amounted to EUR 1280.4 million and export – import ratio equalled 300.5%).
