External trade, March 2025


The overall external trade in the Republic of Serbia for the period January - March 2025 amounted to:

   - USD 18479.6 million - which was an increase of 4.1% compared to the same period last year;

   - EUR 17587.2 million - which was an increase of 7.7% compared to the same period last year.

The value of exports amounted to USD 7715.4 million, which was 1.6% decrease when compared to the same period last year, while the value of imports amounted to USD 10764.2 million, which was 8.7% increase relative to the same period last year.

Expressed in Euros, the value of exports amounted to EUR 7346.1 million, which was 1.8% increase, compared to the same period last year. The value of imports amounted to EUR 10241.1 million, which was 12.4% increase when compared to the same period last year.

The deficit amounted to USD 3048.8 million, which was an increase of 48.2% in relation to the same period last year. The deficit expressed in Euros amounted to 2895.0 million, which was an increase of 52.8% compared to the same period last year.

The export - import ratio equalled 71.7% and was lower if compared to the same period last year when it was 79.2%.

The external trade in the reference period noted the highest level with the counties with which we have signed agreements on free trade. European Union member countries account for 57.1% of total external trade.

Our second major partner refers to the CEFTA countries, since our gained surplus in external trade amounted to USD 793.3 million, resulting from the exports of electricity, cereals and produces thereof, oil and oil derivatives, medical and pharmaceutical products and road vehicles. Our exports in the referent period amounted to USD 1207.4 million, while the imports were USD 414.1 million. The export– import ratio equalled 291.6 %. Expressed in EUR, exports amounted to 1148.7 and imports to 394.5 million (surplus amounted to EUR 754.2 million and export – import ratio equalled 291.2%).
