External trade, for October 2023


The overall external trade in the Republic of Serbia for the period January-October 2023 amounted to:

   - USD 58781.3 million - which was an increase of 0.5% compared to the same period last year;

   - EUR 54411.1 million - which was a decrease of 1.6% compared to the same period last year.

The value of exports amounted to USD 25879.0 million, which was 7.2% increase when compared to the same period last year, while the value of imports amounted to USD 32902.3 million, which was 4.3% decrease relative to the same period last year.

Expressed in Euros, the value of exports amounted to EUR 23956.3 million, which was 4.9% increase, compared to the same period last year. The value of imports amounted to EUR 30454.8 million, which was 6.1% decrease when compared to the same period last year.

The deficit amounted to USD 7023.3 million, which was a decrease of 31.3% in relation to the same period last year. The deficit expressed in Euros amounted to 6498.5 million, which was a decrease of 32.4% compared to the same period last year.

The export - import ratio equalled 78.7% and was higher if compared to the same period last year when it was 70.2%.

The external trade in the reference period noted the highest level with the counties with which we have signed agreements on free trade. European Union member countries account for 59.6% of total external trade.

Our second major partner refers to the CEFTA countries, since our gained surplus in external trade amounted to USD 2492.3 million, resulting from the exports of electricity, cereals and produces thereof, oil and oil derivatives, beverages and road vehicles. Our exports in the referent period amounted to USD 4023.3 million, while the imports were USD 1531.0 million. The export– import ratio equalled 262.8 %. Expressed in EUR, exports amounted to 3722.2 and imports to 1418.3 million (surplus amounted to EUR 2303.9 million and export – import ratio equalled 262.4%).
