The volume of work carried out on logging in the Republic of Serbia in 2021, compared to the previous year, increased by 12%, in the Belgrade region decreased by 24%, in the Vojvodina region increased by 13%, in the region of Sumadija and Western Serbia decreased by 4%, and in the Region of Southern and Eastern Serbia it increased by 15%. The volume of trees cut in 2021 totals about 3.4 million m3. The majority part of this volume of wood, about 1.7 million m3 (51%), was used as fuelwood. The felled (gross) volume of wood in state forests and out of forests is about 2.6 million m3, and in private forests and out of forests about 780,000 m3.
