Total damages in state forests of the Republic of Serbia in 2020, expressed in timber volume, amounted to approximately 143 007 m3, out of which, about 26 000 m3 were damages caused by man. Natural inclemencies (wind, rain, hail, snow) caused damages of approximately 75 000 m3 of the timber volume, which was about 53% of the total damages in state forests. During 2020, 26 cases of fire in state forests were recorded and damaged timber volume was 3 525 m3. Damaged timber volume in private forests amounted to 1 622 m3. In 2020, in state forests, plant diseases caused damages of approximately 26 000m3.
