In the Republic of Serbia in 2019, the number of live births was 64 399 (9.3‰), while the number of deaths amounted to 101 458 (14.6‰). The natural increase was -37 059 (-5.3‰).
According to the order of birth, first born children were the most numerous, 29 656 (46.1%) then second born ones, 22 701 (35.3%). Observed by age, first born children were born to women aged 25-29, while second born ones were born to women aged 30-34.
It is in January, July, August, September and October that the most children were born.
