According to the estimations made in mid-2016, the population of the Republic of Serbia numbers 7.058.322 inhabitants, of which the share of females equalled 51.3% and of males 48.7%. The trend of depopulation was carried on, and the rate on population increase was negative when related to the previous year, i.e. equalled -5.2‰.
