The workshop "Improving Local Planning through Data and Digital Solutions" was held in Novi Sad on June 8, 2026, as part of the project "EU4SORS - Development of a Modern Statistical System", which the Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia held with the representatives of local governments, regional chambers of commerce and institutions involved in the development of a modern statistical system and data use for decision-making at the local level.

During the workshop, the activities implemented within the subcomponent "Development of Decision Support Systems at Local Level (DMSS LL)" were presented, as well as the results of the Survey on data needs in the economic, social and environmental fields, conducted in December 2025.

Special emphasis was placed on the new role of official statistics as an analytical service that, in addition to data and indicators, also provides institutions, organizations, the academic community and citizens with support in data analysis and interpretation. During the workshop, a working version of a new user platform for interactive visualization and analytical interpretation of data was also presented.
