On April 16, 2026, as a part of activities related to celebrating the Earth Day, students of the Department for Geospatial Foundations of the Environment at the Faculty of Geography of the Belgrade University visited the Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia.

Through the presentation and conversation, the students were presented the manner of collecting, processing and disseminating the environment statistical data, the indicators of the Sustainable Development Goals were shown, as well as the available databases and their application in scientific and research work.

This visit represents one more contribution to the improvement of cooperation between the academic community and SORS, as well as to raising awareness of the importance of statistical data in the field of environmental protection.
