The Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia hosted students from the International School on March 19, 2026. Through three thematic presentations, the students had the opportunity to gain more experience about the role and importance of official statistics in modern society.

The first presentation was dedicated to the history and development of the Statistical Office of Serbia, the development and organization of the statistical system in Serbia, as well as the process and channels of statistical data dissemination. Students learned more about the establishment and development of the institution, the way the Statistical Office functions today, and how official statistical data is collected, prepared, and published.

Through the second presentation, using the example of the Labor Force Survey, students were shown the methodology of data collection and processing, the types of indicators that arise from this Survey, and their importance for labour market analysis and public policy creation.

The third presentation was dedicated to a topic that particularly attracted the attention of the students – the application of artificial intelligence in the work of the Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia. Through practical examples, it was shown how modern technologies are used to improve data quality, automate processes and develop new analytical tools.

The visit ended with a discussion in which students had the opportunity to ask questions and exchange impressions.
