From November 4-6 November, 2025 the workshop “Development of the Labour Market Information System – Labour Market Info” was successfully held in Šabac. The workshop was organized within the project EU4SORS – Development of a Modern Statistical System, Financed by the funds of the European Union within the IPA 2022 Programme.

The workshop aimed at presenting the concept and functional framework of the future Labour Market Information System, as well as at defining through interactive work with institutions the needs of users and key indicators that would be the foundation of this national platform.

The workshop was attended by the representatives of ministries, the National Employment Service, academic community, social partners and other relevant institutions.

The concept and objectives of the platform “Labour Market Info“ was presented by Vesna Pantelić, Head of the subcomponent Labour Market Information System, emphasing that this system will integrate the data from different administrative sources and statistical surveys in a single interactive system that will enable a comprehensive insight into the movements on the labour market – by occupations, skills, age groups and regions.

The programme of the workshop covered the topics dedicated to the labour market role in the context of migration and human capital, methodological solutions for measuring shortage occupations and monitoring educational outcomes, as well as to the use of data in creating employment policies and skill development.

A special focus was on the presentation of new statistical surveys – on adults’ skills, vacancies and external migration – that will become an integral part of the Labour Market Information System.

In the special part of the workshop, the team of the Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia presented the techniques and methodological aspects of the development of the system, including the integration of data from different registers, the development of the Activity Register, as well as the concept of data visualization  within the future portal “Labour Market Info”.

A part of the workshop was dedicated to the interactive session for advancing interinstitutional cooperation and to joint defining of the priorities in the development of the system.

In the closing part, Vesna Pantelić emphasized that this system was „the most important step towards the building of a modern, data-based approach to labour market management, which will be useful not only to decision-makers but also to all the citizens of Serbia“.
