Representatives of the Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia participated in the 110th DGINS Conference (Directeurs Généraux des Instituts Nationaux de Statistique), held on 22–23 October 2025 in Split, Croatia.
The main theme of this year’s conference was “European Tourism Statistics – A Forward-Looking and Innovative Response to 21st Century User Needs.” The event brought together Directors General and senior representatives of national statistical institutes from the member countries of the European Statistical System (ESS), as well as Eurostat officials, with the goal of exchanging knowledge, experience, and innovative approaches in the field of statistics.
Established in 1953 in Luxembourg, the DGINS Conference is one of the most important annual forums for discussing key topics related to the development of the European statistical programme, as well as methodologies and processes used to produce high-quality European statistics.
This year’s sessions focused on the importance and advancement of tourism statistics, which play an increasingly significant role in monitoring sustainable development, economic growth, and changing travel patterns. Participants explored new approaches to data collection and processing, the use of digital data sources, and innovative methods enabling faster and more accurate analysis of tourism trends.
By participating in this conference, SORS continues to actively contribute to international cooperation and the improvement of European statistical quality through the exchange of experience and the application of modern statistical solutions.
