The Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia (SORS) published on 31 January 2025 the first results of external trade for 2024. The final results, in line with the official SORS Release Calendar, will be published on 15 July 2025. Until then – for the sake of improving data accuracy and quality – all the data will be subject to revisions.

During regular checking and analysis, SORS services have established that data on exports of goods from free zones are not fully covered in preliminary results. This is due to the introduction of two new customs procedures, which have reflected on recording data in the customs system.

The decision about data revision has been made in direct cooperation with Eurostat, based on common analysis and methodological guidelines. Eurostat experts have confirmed that all relevant single customs documents with new codes of customs procedures have to be included in data processing, both on the import and export side.

Therefore, SORS has realised an additional processing and improvement of data for 2024 and the first four months of 2025, enabling this way full harmonisation with European standards and accurate review of external trade movements of the Republic of Serbia.

This methodological change has affected exclusively data on exports for the whole 2024 and the first four months of 2025. Data on amounts and monthly dynamics of the difference between preliminary and revised values of exports are available in the table:
