Total transport of passengers and goods, 1st Half 2022


Number of transported passengers in the first six months of 2022, relative to the same period 2021, increased by 17.6%, whereof number of passengers in domestic transport increased by 14.2% and in international transport, by 98.5%. In air transport, increase of 88.6% was recorded, while in road transport, it increased by 13.1%. Referring to passengers railway transport, increase of 63.5% was noted. Operations volume, expressed in pkm, increased by 45.2%. Goods transported in the first half of 2022 noted growth of 14.9%, relative to the same period 2021. Regarding the same period, expressed in tkm, operations volume increased by 4.0%. Air transport, pipeline, road and railway transport recorded increase in quantity of transported goods, while inland waterway transport noted decrease.

Road passenger transport increased relative to the first half of the previous year, with volume operations growth of 36.3%. Referring to the road transport of goods, there was an increase of 18.3%, and operations volume noted increase of 4.9%, expressed in tkm and relative to the same period 2021.

Air transport expressed increase referring to passengers transport. Number of transported passengers increased by 88.6%, and realized passenger kilometres increased by 61.6%. Transported goods increased by 4.8% and operations volume, expressed in tkm, noted slight increase of 0.3%.

Increased number of transported passengers in railway transport in the first half of 2022 amounted to 63.5%. Recorded was the increased number of transported passengers in domestic transport by 63.2%, as well as in international transport, where the increase of 73.3% was noted. In the same period goods transport showed the increase of 21.7%. Operations volume, expressed in tkm, noted increase of 9.2% relative to the same period 2021.

Inland waterways transport noted decrease regarding transported quantities of goods, by 6.7% and regarding operations volume expressed in tkm, it decreased by 13.8%.

The oil transport via pipelines increased by 23.5% regarding the transported oil quantities and it increased by 28.9% regarding the tkm made. The natural gas transport increased by 10.6%. 

In the border traffic of entering road passengers’ vehicles in the first half of 2022 recorded was increase of number of vehicles with Serbian registration plates by 18.6%, if compared to the same period 2021. Out of the total number of vehicles with foreign registration plates that came into Serbia, the majority referred to those from Hungary and Germany.

Postal services in the first half of 2022 compared to the same period 2021 noted the increase: letter mails increased by 3.0%, and parcels noted increase of 32.4%. Payment traffic services decreased by 7.2%.

Fixed telephony noted decrease of 16.9%, and mobile telephony decrease of 1.7%. 

Total number of the employed in transport section increased by 1.3% respective to the same period of the previous year.
