In the Republic of Serbia, in 2021, the procedure upon criminal reports was completed for 80 632 adult perpetrators of criminal offenses, which is by 8% more than in 2020.

27 508 adult persons were convicted, which is by 8% more when compared to the previous year. In 2021, the largest number of criminal offenses for which adult persons were legally convicted concerned criminal offenses against property (24.4%), marriage and family (13.5%), and human health (19.3%). Two persons were sentenced to life imprisonment and eight persons to 30-40-year imprisonment. The prison sentence made up 23.1% of all sentences, and the conditional sentence (imprisonment) made up 52.7%.
