Border traffic of passenger motor vehicles and passengers, I Quarter 2022


The total number of passenger road motor vehicles that entered the Republic of Serbia in the first quarter 2022 increased by 15.1%, compared to the same period of the previous year. The number of vehicles registered in our country increased by 22.2%, while the number of vehicles registered abroad increased by 9.8%. Among foreign vehicles, the largest number was registered in Germany, 5.0%, Bosnia and Herzegovina, 4.8% and in Hungary, 4.5%.

The exit of passenger road motor vehicles from the Republic of Serbia increased by 25.3% compared to the same period 2021. The exit of vehicles registered in the country increased by 19.4%, while in the same period, the exit of vehicles with foreign registration plates increased by 31.2%. The largest number of vehicles was registered in Hungary, 7.0%, Germany, 5.5% and Bosnia and Herzegovina, 4.9%.

The total number of passengers that entered Serbia by all modes of transport during the first quarter 2022 decreased by 27.4% in comparison to the same period previous year. The number of passengers in vehicles registered in Serbia decreased by 36.2%, while in vehicles with foreign registration plates, it decreased by 22.4%.

The total number of passengers that exited from Serbia in the first quarter 2022 decreased by 20.3% compared to the samequarter of the previous year. The number of passengers in domestic vehicles decreased by 38.4%, while the number of passengers in vehicles with foreign registration plates decreased by 6.9%. 

The largest number of vehicles entered through the border crossings with Bosnia and Herzegovina, 40.3%, then with Croatia, 20.6% and with Hungary, 16.1%. The largest number of vehicles entered Serbia through the following border crossings: Horgoš, 11.8%, Sremska Rača, 9.9%, and Batrovci, 9.4%.

The largest number of vehicles in the first quarter 2022, when compared to the first quarter 2021, entered the country using border the crossing stations Kaluđerevo and Vаtin; also, the number of vehicles that exited at these border crossing stations had the largest share (%) if related to the other border crossing stations.

The largest number of passengerroad motor vehicles exited through the border crossings with Bosnia and Herzegovina, 38.6%, then with Croatia, 23.5%, and with Hungary, 17.8%. Three border crossings with the most frequent traffic of passenger transport vehicles in exit from the Republic of Serbia were: Horgoš, 12.3%, Batrovci, 10.8% and Sremska Rača, 9.6%.
