Industrial production indices, October 2021


The industrial production in the Republic of Serbia in October 2021 increased by 0.9% relative to October 2020, and relative to 2020 average, it increased by 13.6%. Industrial production in the period January – October 2021, relative to the same period 2020, increased by 6.5%.

Observed by sections, in October 2021 compared with October 2020, the following trends were noted:

  • the section of mining and quarrying– growth of 39.5%,
  • the section of manufacturing– fall of 0.2%, and
  • the section of electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply – fall of 10.5%.

 

The data on industrial production by MIGS in October 2021, compared to October 2020, expressed growth in the production of:

  • intermediate products, energy excluded, by 11.5%,

while fall was noted for

 

  • non - durable consumer goods, by 0.7%,
  • capital goods, by 0.8%,
  • energy, by 4.5%, and
  • durable consumer goods, by 26.2%.

Industrial production volume in October 2021, compared to October 2020, expressed the following trends:

  • growth in 13 divisions that in the structure of industrial production participate with 36%,
  • fall in 16 divisions that in the structure of industrial production participate with 64%.

 

The largest influence on industrial production growth in October 2021 compared to October 2020 had the divisions of: exploitation of metal ores, manufacture other transport vehicles, manufacture of basic metals, manufacture of coke and refined petroleum products and manufacture of tobacco products.

The seasonally adjusted industrial production index for October 2021, compared to September 2021, indicates 1.1% growth of the overall industrial production and 2.3% growth of manufacturing.

The seasonal adjustment of the industrial production index for October 2021, compared to 2020 average, indicates 6.4% growth of the overall industrial production and 4.4% growth of manufacturing.

The production of small-size enterprises (the number of employees less than 50) that were not included in regular statistical surveys is followed on a sample of the selected units of the section of manufacturing. When the assessment of the industrial production of small-size enterprises of the sample is included, the overall industrial production in October 2021 compared to 2020 average increased by 13.6% and manufacturing increased by 14.0%.

The data on the industrial production in 2021 will be published on the last working day in a month and will refer to the previous month.

 

Starting from 1999 the Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia has not at disposal and may not provide available certain data relative to AP Kosovo and Metohia and therefore these data are not included in the coverage for the Republic of Serbia (total).
