In the Republic of Serbia, in 2020, the procedure upon criminal reports was completed for 74 394 adult perpetrators of criminal offenses, which is by 20% less than in 2019.

25 487 adult persons were convicted, which is by 9% less when compared to the previous year. In 2020, the largest number of criminal offenses for which adult persons were legally convicted concerned criminal offenses against property (25.6%), marriage and family (14.3%), and human health (19.4%). Eight persons were sentenced to 30-40-year imprisonment. The prison sentence made up 24.1% of all sentences, and the conditional sentence (imprisonment) made up 55.6%.
