Industrial production indices, March 2021


The industrial production in the Republic of Serbia in March 2021 increased by 6.1% relative to March 2020, and relative to 2020 average, it increased by 9.0%.  Industrial production in the period January – March 2021, relative to the same period 2020, increased by 3.8%.

Observed by sections,

In March 2021 compared with March 2020, the following trends were noted:

  • the section of manufacturing– growth of 6.5%,
  • the section of mining and quarrying– growth of 5.7%, and
  • the section of electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply – growth of 5.0%,

 

The data on industrial production by MIGS in March 2021, compared to March 2020, expressed growth in the production of:

  • durable consumer goods, by 41.6%,
  • capital goods, by 29.8%.
  • intermediate products, energy excluded, by 15.5%, and
  • non - durable consumer goods, by 4.0%,

while fall was noted for

  • energy, by 10.1%.

 

Industrial production volume in March 2021, compared to March 2020, expressed the following trends:

  • growth in 23 divisions that in the structure of industrial production participate with 83%,
  • fall in 6 divisions that in the structure of industrial production participate with 17%.

 

The largest influence on industrial production growth in March 2021 compared to March 2020 had the divisions of: manufacture of metal products, machinery excluded, manufacture of electrical equipment, manufacture of food products, generation of electricity, and manufacture of non-metallic mineral products.

The seasonally adjusted industrial production index for March 2021, compared to February 2021, indicates 3.5% fall of the overall industrial production and 2.7% fall of manufacturing.

The seasonal adjustment of the industrial production index for March 2021, compared to 2020 average, indicates 6.0% growth of the overall industrial production and 6.4% growth of manufacturing.

The production of small-size enterprises (the number of employees less than 50) that were not included in regular statistical surveys is followed on a sample of the selected units of the section of manufacturing. When the assessment of the industrial production of small-size enterprises of the sample is included, the overall industrial production in March 2021 compared to 2020 average increased by 9.2% and manufacturing increased by 6.0%.

The data on the industrial production in 2021 will be published on the last working day in a month and will refer to the previous month.

 

Starting from 1999 the Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia has not at disposal and may not provide available certain data relative to AP Kosovo and Metohija and therefore these data are not included in the coverage for the Republic of Serbia (total).
