Industrial production indices, December 2020


The industrial production in the Republic of Serbia in December 2020 increased by 4.1% relative to December 2019, while relative to 2019 average, it increased by 9.8%. Industrial production in 2020 increased by 0.4% relative to 2019.

Observed by sections,

In December 2020 compared with December 2019, the following trends were noted:

  • the section of manufacturing – growth of 5.5%,
  • the section of electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply– growth of 0.5%, and
  • the section of mining and quarrying – fall of 1.4%.

 

The data on industrial production by MIGS in December 2020, compared to December 2019, expressed growth in the production of:

  • capital goods, by 14.8%,
  • intermediate products, energy excluded, by 8.2%.
  • durable consumer goods, by 3.3%, and
  • energy, by 1.6%,

while fall was noted in the production of:

  • non - durable consumer goods, by 0.8%.

 

Industrial production volume in December 2020, compared to December 2019, expressed the following trends:

  • growth in 14 divisions that in the structure of industrial production participate with 71%, and
  • fall in 15 divisions that in the structure of industrial production participate with 29%.

 

The largest influence on industrial production growth in December 2020 compared to December 2019 had the divisions of: manufacture of fabricated metal products, except machinery and equipment, manufacture of rubber and plastic products, manufacture of non-metallic mineral products, manufacture of electrical equipment and manufacture of food products.

Industrial production volume in 2020, compared to 2019, expressed the following trends:

  • growth in 14 divisions that in the structure of industrial production participate with 67%, and
  • fall in 15 divisions that in the structure of industrial production participate with 33%.

 

The largest influence on industrial production growth in 2020 compared to 2019 had the divisions of: manufacture of coke and refined petroleum products, manufacture of food products, manufacture of fabricated metal products, except machinery and equipment, manufacture of electrical equipment and exploitation of metal ores.

The seasonally adjusted industrial production index for December 2020, compared to 2019 average, indicates 5.1% growth of the overall industrial production and 6.6% growth of manufacturing.

 

The seasonal adjustment of the industrial production index for December 2020, compared to November 2020, indicates 3.5% growth of the overall industrial production and 6.5% growth of manufacturing.

The production of small-size enterprises (the number of employees less than 50) that were not included in regular statistical surveys is followed on a sample of the selected units of the section of manufacturing. When the assessment of the industrial production of small-size enterprises of the sample is included, the overall industrial production in December 2020 compared to 2019 average increased by 9.5% and manufacturing increased by 8.3%.

The data on the industrial production in 2021 will be published on the last working day in a month and will refer to the previous month.

Starting from 1999 the Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia has not at disposal and may not provide available certain data relative to AP Kosovo and Metohija and therefore these data are not included in the coverage for the Republic of Serbia (total).
