Total number of employed in the fourth quarter of 2020 amounted to 2 253 159 persons. Relative to the same quarter of the previous year, total registered employment increased by 2.3%, i.e. by 50 524 persons.

Observed by the modalities of employment, there were 2 127 492 employed in “long-term employment”, in “temporary and occasional employment” there were 61 580 persons, while the number of registered individual agricultural producers was 64 087.

Employment was primarily increased in the category of “long-term employment”, where growth of 3.2% (66 887 persons) was recorded, relative to the same quarter of the previous year.

Territorially observed, the largest increase of the employment is in Beogradski region (growth of 15 676 persons) and in Region Vojvodine (growth of 13 082 persons).

The sections of activity with the largest increase in the number of the employed are Manufacturing (growth of 19 373 persons), Wholesale and retail trade and repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles (growth of 12 181 persons), Construction (growth of 8 000 persons), Information and communication (growth of 7 109 persons) and Education (growth of 5 182 persons).
