In the Republic of Serbia, in 2019, the procedure upon criminal reports was completed for 92 797 adult perpetrators of criminal offenses, which is by 0.1% less than in 2018.

28 112 adult persons were convicted, which is by 6% less when compared to the previous year. In 2019, the largest number of criminal offenses for which adult persons were legally convicted concerned criminal offenses against property (28%), against family and marriage (14.8%), and against human health (16.1%). Four persons were sentenced to 40-year imprisonment. The prison sentence made up 24.1% of all sentences, and the conditional sentence (imprisonment) made up 57.2%.
