In 2019, for the purpose of drinking water supply, quantity of abstracted water amounted to 668 million m3, which represents 2.1% more water compared to the same period in 2018. From the total volume of abstracted water, 63.1% related to underground and spring water, 27.3% was from watercourses, and 9.6% was the water from lakes and accumulations.
The total water distributed to customers amounted to 436 million m3, which is by 2.8% more water than the amount distributed in 2018.
Water distributed to households amounted to 323 million m3 and it is 74% of total distributed water. 47 million m3 were distributed to industrial sector (10.8%), and amount of water distributed to other users was 66 million m3 (15.2%).
Relative to the previous year, water distributed to households increased by 2%, 4.6% more water was distributed to industrial sector and 5.6% more water was distributed to other users.
Share of water losses in total water abstraction in 2019 increased by 1% compared to the referent value in 2018.
Length of water supply network in 2019 amounted to 46 419 km, presenting the increase of 4.6% relative to the previous year.
Number of new users connected to water supply network increased by 0.7% if compared with 2018.
