Industrial production, April 2018

The industrial production in the Republic of Serbia in April 2018, when compared to April 2017, increased by 3.1%. In the period January – April 2018, relative to the same period 2017, the industrial production increased by 5.2%. Manufacturing recorded the increase of 3.9%, in the period January – April 2018, compared to the same period 2017.

Observed by sections,

in April 2018 compared with April 2017, the following trends were noted:

  • the section of electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply – growth of 13.0%,
  • the section of mining and quarrying – growth of 1.7%, and
  • the section of manufacturing – growth of 1.0%,

in the period January – April 2018, relative to the same period 2017, the trends were noted as follows:

  • the section of electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply – growth of 11.4%,
  • the section of manufacturing – growth of 3.9%, and
  • the section of mining and quarrying – growth of 2.5%.

The data on industrial production by destination in April 2018, compared to April 2017, expressed growth in the production of:

  • energy, by 7.8%
  • durable consumer goods, by 3.5%,
  • intermediate products, energy excluded, by 2.1%, and
  • non - durable consumer goods, by 0.5%.

while fall was noted for

  • capital goods, by 0.8%.

Industrial production volume in April 2018, compared to April 2017, expressed the following trends:

  • growth in 19 divisions that in the structure of industrial production participate with 66%,
  • fall in 10 divisions that in the structure of industrial production participate with 34%.

The largest influence on industrial production growth in April 2018 compared to April 2017 had the divisions of: generation of electricity, mining of paper and paper products, manufacture of wearing apparel, repair and installation of machinery and equipment and manufacture of machinery and equipment, n.e.c.    

The seasonally adjusted industrial production index for April 2018, compared to 2017 average, indicates 0.6% growth of the overall industrial production and 0.8% fall of manufacturing.

The seasonal adjustment of the industrial production index for April 2018, compared to March 2018, indicates 1.7% fall of the overall industrial production and 2.2% fall of manufacturing.

compared to 2017 average decreased by 2.0% and manufacturing decreased by 2.7%.

The data on the industrial production in 2018 will be published on the last working day in a month and will refer to the previous month.

 

Starting from 1999 the Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia has not at disposal and may not provide available certain data relative to AP Kosovo and Metohia and therefore these data are not included in the coverage for the Republic of Serbia (total).

The production of small-size enterprises (the number of employees less than 50) that were not included in regular statistical surveys is followed on a sample of the selected units of the section of manufacturing.
