In the first quarter of 2026, 41 391 passenger vehicles, 5 243 lorries and 220 buses were registered for the first time. In the same period, a total of 2 633 traffic accidents with casualties were recorded, in which 3 575 people were injured, while 84 people were killed.
In terms of age structure, a very high share of newly registered vehicles is made up of vehicles older than two years. Among passenger cars, 82.9% of first-time registered vehicles are older than two years. A similar trend is observed for lorries (77.0%), as well as for special purpose motor vehicles (59.8%).
