In the Republic of Serbia, the Multiple Indicator Cluster Survey (MICS7), dealing with the situation of children, women and households, is starting in 136 municipalities on September 15.

SORS interviewers will visit more than 10 000 households and conduct the interview face to face with the members of the selected households. Field work will last until December 2025.

We kindly ask the citizens selected in the sample for this survey to welcome the interviewers and answer their questions. 

The Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia, in cooperation with the Institute of Public Health of Serbia and the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Serbia, has started preparations for the implementation of the Serbian National Health Survey 2025.

This survey is being conducted for the fifth time in the Republic of Serbia, and the third time according to the methodology of the European Health Interview Survey (EHIS).

The Serbian National Health Survey, including field implementation, will be conducted during the period October−December 2025.

Representatives of the Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia participated in the 110th DGINS Conference (Directeurs Généraux des Instituts Nationaux de Statistique), held on 22–23 October 2025 in Split, Croatia.

Number of live births in the Republic of Serbia in the period of January-September 2025 amounted to 43 216. Compared with the same period of the previous year, when the number of live births was 44 553,noted was the decrease in live births by 1 337 i.e. 3.0%.

Number of deaths in the Republic of Serbia in the period of January-September 2025 amounted to 70 159, and if related to the same period of the previous year, when it was 73 278, it recorded decrease by 3 119, or 4.3%.

Average gross salaries and wages calculated for August 2025 amounted to 146 026 RSD, while average net salaries and wages amounted to 105 590 RSD.

Average net salaries and wages, in the period January-August 2025, relative to the same period last year increased by 10.8% in nominal terms, and 6.1% in real terms.

Median net salaries and wages for August 2025 amounted to 83 535 RSD, meaning that 50% of employees realised wages and salaries up to the mentioned amount.

“Driving Change with Quality Statistics and Data for Everyone” is the slogan of this year’s, fourth World Statistics Day. 

In order to raise awareness of the importance and role of official statistics in modern society, the United Nations General Assembly established 20 October as World Statistics Day in 2010. Since then, every five years, statistical institutions, universities and international organizations around the world have organized numerous activities on this day – campaigns, lectures, workshops and public events – to highlight the key role of statistics in decision-making, public policies development and citizens’ life quality improvement.

On Tuesday, 14 October 2025, the Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia had the honour of welcoming a high-level delegation from the Zhejiang Provincial Bureau of Statistics — a department-level institution operating under the People’s Government of Zhejiang Province.
