Second round of visits to a portion of households included in the MICS7 survey
The Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia and UNICEF are conducting the final activities within the MICS7 survey in the Republic of Serbia.
In the coming period, some households that have already participated in the Multiple Indicator Cluster Survey (MICS7) will be contacted again for a short visit, during which MICS7 interviewers will ask several additional questions regarding the situation and health of children.

External trade, May 2026
The overall external trade in the Republic of Serbia for January - May 2026 amounted to:
- USD 37836.5 million - which was an increase of 12.5% compared to the same period last year;
- EUR 32376.3 million - which was an increase of 3.9% compared to the same period last year.

Total transport of passengers and goods in 2025
The total number of transported passengers in international transport in 2025, relative to the same period of the previous year, decreased by 6.4%. In the observed period, domestic transport of passengers saw also a decrease of 8.2%, which influenced the fall of the total number of passengers carried by 8.0%. The total performance in 2025, expressed in pkm, decreased by 3.2%, which resulted from a decrease in the performance of the domestic transport of passengers by 7.5%, and that of the international transport by 1.0%.

Industrial production indices, May 2026
The industrial production in May 2026 increased by 0.3% relative to May 2025.

Retail trade turnover, May 2026
Retail trade turnover in the Republic of Serbia in May 2026, compared to the same month last year, increased by 9.6% at current prices and by 6.2% at constant prices.
Comparing the retail trade turnover in the first five months 2026 with the same period 2025, it increased by 9.1% at current prices, and by 7.5% at constant prices.

Tourist turnover, May 2026
In the Republic of Serbia, 470 thous. tourist arrivals were registered in May 2026, which was by 7.4% more than in the same month of the previous year. A total of 1 209 thous. tourist overnight stays were recorded, representing an increase of 5.5% compared with May of the previous year.
Of the total number of overnight stays, domestic tourists accounted for 629 thous. overnight stays, which was by 2.2% more than in the same period of the previous year, while foreign tourists accounted for 581 thous. overnight stays, representing an increase of 9.3%.
In terms of overnight stays, in May 2026, among urban tourist destinations the most visited were Beograd, Novi Sad and Niš, among spa resorts Vrnjačka Banja, Sokobanja and Banja Vrdnik, and among mountain centres Zlatibor, Kopaonik and Tara.
In May 2026, the highest number of overnight stays by foreign tourists was realised by tourists from Turkey, Russian Federation and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Government budget appropriations for R&D, 2025
In 2025, RSD 42 465 727 thousand of budget funds were spent for research and development (R&D) activities in the Republic of Serbia, which is an increase of 8.9% compared to the previous year, 2024.
The share of total budgetary funds for R&D in GDP reached 0.41% in 2025.

Enrolment students, 2025
A total of 210 050 students were enrolled at State and private universities, from that 83.1% i.e. 174 440 at State universities and 16.9%, i.e. 35 610 at private universities.
A total of 30 022 students were enrolled at State academies / higher schools of applied studies, while 8 437 students were enrolled at private higher schools of applied studies.
Observed by way of financing, there were 38.0% students financed from the budget and 62.0% self-financing students.
