In scope of the project "EU4SORS - Development of a Modern Statistical System", the Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia organized the workshop "Establishment of a Statistical Population Register" on May 14 and 15, 2026, in Vrdnik, with the aim of reviewing the results of the previous work regarding the implementation of this component of the Project, as well as exchanging knowledge and experience among participants and agreeing on joint activities in the coming period. 

Input prices in agriculture in I Quarter 2026 were decreased by 2.1% in relation to I Quarter 2025.

In March 2026, the number of 2 634 building permits was issued, presenting the increase of 19.3% when compared to March 2025. Out of the total number of permits issued in March 2026, 82.1% related to buildings, and 17.9% to civil engineering constructions. When only buildings are concerned, 80.7% of permits related to residential buildings, and 19.3% to non–residential ones, while regarding civil engineering constructions the largest number related to pipelines, communication and electric power lines (68.6%).

As part of the project “EU4SORS – Development of a Modern Statistical System”, the Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia is organizing the workshop “Mapping Potential: Defining a New Framework of Indicators for the Local Level”, taking place from 11 to 13 May 2026 in Novi Sad.

Producer prices of agricultural and fishing products in March 2026, compared to the same month of 2025 were decreased by 1.6% average.

Prices of goods and services used for personal consumption in April 2026 in relation to March 2026 increased by 0.8% on average. 

According to the data collected in the first quarter of 2026, value of construction works done on the territory of the Republic of Serbia increased by 1.7% at current prices, relative to the first quarter 2025. Observed at constant prices, it decreased by 5.0%. Observed by types of constructions, value of construction works on buildings recorded an increase of 25.4%, and on other constructions a decrease of 21.5%.

The overall external trade in the Republic of Serbia for January - March 2026 amounted to:

   - USD 22272.2 million - which was an increase of 15.1% compared to the same period last year;

   - EUR 19027.6 million - which was an increase of 3.3% compared to the same period last year.
