“European Statistics at a crossroad: priorities, opportunities and constraints”
European Statistics Day is celebrated on 20 October, and this year marks its 10th anniversary. To mark the occasion, the Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia has prepared a video presentation entitled “Serbia and Europe in Figures”, which compares Serbia and the European Union using selected statistical indicators.
Through data and comparisons, the video presentation highlights selected demographic, economic and social characteristics of Serbia and the European Union.
This year’s European Statistics Day motto, “European Statistics at a crossroad: priorities, opportunities and constraints”, highlights the importance of official statistics in a time of change and growing demand for reliable, timely and comparable data. Internationally comparable statistical indicators provide a better understanding of Serbia’s performance in comparison with the EU and contribute to evidence-based decision-making.
By marking the 10th anniversary of European Statistics Day, the Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia highlights the importance of official statistics as a reliable source of information for decision-makers, researchers, the media and the citizens.
