Progress in Monitoring Environment-Related SDG Indicators in the Republic of Serbia

We are pleased to announce the release of the latest thematic publication in the series Progress in Monitoring Environment-Related SDG Indicators in the Republic of Serbia. This 2025 edition presents the key findings on Serbia’s progress in tracking 93 environment-related indicators identified by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), reflecting significant advances in data availability, institutional cooperation, and further alignment with the 2030 Agenda.

The report highlights that by August 2025, Serbia is monitoring 56 of the 93 relevant indicators – a 64.7% increase compared to 2022 – thanks to inter-institutional collaboration, dedicated workshops, and international support. These results mark an important step forward in available data for sustainable development, particularly in areas such as clean water and sanitation, biodiversity protection, and responsible consumption and production.

The publication was prepared by the Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia with the support of the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and the Office of the United Nations Resident Coordinator in Serbia (UNRCO).
