In the Republic of Serbia, in 2022, the procedure upon criminal reports was completed for 82 958 adult perpetrators of criminal offenses, which is by 3% more than in 2021. 26 200 adult persons were convicted, which is by 5% less when compared to the previous year. In 2022, the largest number of criminal offenses for which adult persons were legally convicted concerned criminal offenses against property (24.3%), marriage and family (12.8%), and human health (20.1%). One person was sentenced to life imprisonment and one person to 30-40-year imprisonment. The prison sentence made up 27.5% of all sentences, and the conditional sentence (imprisonment) made up 45.5%.
