Issued building permits, April 2019


In April 2019, 1 604 building permits were issued, presenting the increase of 17.7% related to April 2018. Index of anticipated value of works in April 2019 increased by 190.2% relative to April 2018. The increase of anticipated value was mostly affected by permit issued for building the Long-distance Gas Pipeline Bulgaria – Hungary and for the thermoelectric power plant “Kostolac B3”.

 Observed by types of constructions, in April 2019, 76.8% of building permits related to buildings and 23.2% to civil engineering were issued. When referring only to buildings, 58.4% related to residential buildings and 41.6% to non–residential ones, while regarding civil engineering, the largest number related to pipelines, communication and electric power lines (65.1%).  

According to the permits issued in April 2019 in the Republic of Serbia, building of 2 147 dwellings with average area of 77.0 m2 was recorded. Out of the total number of dwellings in new residential buildings, 8.6% of dwellings will be built in single-dwelling buildings, with average area of 152.4 m², and 90.2% of dwellings will be in buildings with three and more dwellings, with significantly smaller average area of 69.0 m².

Anticipated value of works of new construction in April 2019 amounted to 90.9% of totally anticipated value of works. Observed by areas, the greatest construction activity is expected in Braničevska oblast, 38.8% of totally anticipated value of works, followed by Južnobanatska oblast (34.9%), Nišavska oblast (5,9%) and Beogradska oblast (3,7%), while the shares of other areas are up to 2,6%.
