In the Republic of Serbia, in 2018, the procedure upon criminal reports was completed for       92 802 adult perpetrators of criminal offenses, which is by 3% more than in 2017. 29 750 adult persons were convicted, which is by 6% less when compared to the previous year. In 2018, the largest number of criminal offenses for which adult persons were legally convicted concerned criminal offenses against property (29.6%), marriage and family (15.7%), and human health (13.9%). Three persons were sentenced to 40-year imprisonment. The prison sentence made up 24.9% of all sentences, and the conditional sentence (imprisonment) made up 56.7%.
