Mortality tables are the basic demographic tools for analysing population mortality and are shown by age and sex. Starting from death probability, calculated are biometric functions: life probability, number of alive and expected life duration. According to the data source and procedure of creation, there are two sorts of tables: detailed and abridged approximate mortality tables. Used are hypotheses on future mortality trend, for calculation of net reproduction rate, and also in actuarial activity.
