Industrial production indices, February 2021


The industrial production in the Republic of Serbia in February 2021 increased by 2.6% relative to February 2020, while relative to 2020 average, it increased by 1.2%. Industrial production in the period January – February 2021 increased by 2.6% relative to the same period 2020.

Observed by sections,

In February 2021 compared with February 2020, the following trends were noted:

  • the section of electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply– growth of 10.2%,
  • the section of manufacturing – growth of 1.4%, and
  • the section of mining and quarrying – fall of 3.0%.

 

The data on industrial production by MIGS in February 2021, compared to February 2020, expressed growth in the production of:

  • durable consumer goods, by 16.6%,
  • energy, by 10.5%, and
  • intermediate products, energy excluded, by 2.6%.

while fall was noted in the production of:

  • capital goods, by 0.7%, and
  • non - durable consumer goods, by 6.3%.

 

Industrial production volume in February 2021, compared to February 2020, expressed the following trends:

  • growth in 13 divisions that in the structure of industrial production participate with 50%, and
  • fall in 16 divisions that in the structure of industrial production participate with 50%.

 

The largest influence on industrial production growth in February 2021 compared to February 2020 had the divisions of: generation of electricity, manufacture of coke and refined petroleum products, manufacture of electrical equipment, manufacture of other transport vehicles and manufacture of chemicals and chemical products.

The seasonal adjustment of the industrial production index for February 2021, compared to January 2021, indicates 2.2% growth of the overall industrial production and 2.6% growth of manufacturing.

The seasonally adjusted industrial production index for February 2021, compared to 2020 average, indicates 9.7% growth of the overall industrial production and 10.0% growth of manufacturing.

The production of small-size enterprises (the number of employees less than 50) that were not included in regular statistical surveys is followed on a sample of the selected units of the section of manufacturing. When the assessment of the industrial production of small-size enterprises of the sample is included, the overall industrial production in February 2021 compared to 2020 average increased by 1.4% and manufacturing decreased by 2.5%.

The data on the industrial production in 2021 will be published on the last working day in a month and will refer to the previous month.

 

Starting from 1999 the Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia has not at disposal and may not provide available certain data relative to AP Kosovo and Metohia and therefore these data are not included in the coverage for the Republic of Serbia (total).
