Industrial production indices, January 2021


The industrial production in the Republic of Serbia in January 2021 increased by 2.5% relative to January 2020, and decreased by 4.7% relative to 2020 average.

Observed by sections,

In January 2021 compared with January 2020, the following trends were noted:

  • the section of electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply – growth of 11.7%,
  • the section of mining and quarrying– growth of 0.2%, and
  • the section of manufacturing– growth of 0.1%.

 

The data on industrial production by MIGS in January 2021, compared to January2020, expressed growth in the production of:

  • durable consumer goods, by 11.7%,
  • energy, by 10.1%, and
  • intermediate products, energy excluded, by 1.3%,

while fall was noted for

  • non - durable consumer goods, by 2.6%, and
  • capital goods, by 9.9%.

 

Industrial production volume in January 2021, compared to January 2020, expressed the following trends:

  • growth in 15 divisions that in the structure of industrial production participate with 51%,
  • fall in 14 divisions that in the structure of industrial production participate with 49%.

 

The largest influence on industrial production growth in January 2021 compared to January 2020 had the divisions of: generation of electricity, manufacture of coke and refined petroleum products, manufacture of electrical equipment, manufacture of wood and of products of wood and cork, except furniture and manufacture of tobacco products.  

The seasonally adjusted industrial production index for January 2021, compared to December 2020, indicates 1.3% growth of the overall industrial production and 0.2% growth of manufacturing.

The seasonal adjustment of the industrial production index for January 2021, compared to 2020 average, indicates 7.0% growth of the overall industrial production and 6.9% growth of manufacturing.

The production of small-size enterprises (the number of employees less than 50) that were not included in regular statistical surveys is followed on a sample of the selected units of the section of manufacturing. When the assessment of the industrial production of small-size enterprises of the sample is included, the overall industrial production in January 2021 compared to 2020 average decreased by 4.8% and manufacturing decreased by 12.3%.

The data on the industrial production in 2021 will be published on the last working day in a month and will refer to the previous month.

 

Starting from 1999 the Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia has not at disposal and may not provide available certain data relative to AP Kosovo and Metohia and therefore these data are not included in the coverage for the Republic of Serbia (total).
