Industrial production indices, November 2020


The industrial production in the Republic of Serbia in November 2020 decreased by 1.4% relative to November 2019, while relative to 2019 average, it increased by 6.0%. Industrial production in the period January – November 2020 increased by 0.1% compared to the same period last year.

Observed by sections,

In November 2020 compared with November 2019, the following trends were noted:

  • the section of manufacturing – fall of 3.8%,
  • the section electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply – growth of 6.6% and
  • the section of mining and quarrying – growth of 7.2%.

The data on industrial production by MIGS in November 2020, compared to November 2019, expressed fall in the production of:

  • Non-durable consumer goods, by 5.7%,
  • Capital goods, by 5.4%,.

 

while growth was noted in the production of:

  • durable consumer goods, by 7.8%, and
  • intermediate products, energy excluded, by 1.4%, and
  • energy, by 0.7%.

 

Industrial production volume in November 2020, compared to November 2019, expressed the following trends:

  • fall in 16 divisions that in the structure of industrial production participate with 40%, and
  • growth in 13 divisions that in the structure of industrial production participate with 60%.

 

The largest influence on industrial production fall in November 2020 compared to November 2019 had the divisions of: manufacture of basic pharmaceutical products and pharmaceutical preparations, manufacture of basic metals, manufacture of coke and refined petroleum products, manufacture of wearing apparel and printing and reproduction of recorded media.

The seasonally adjusted industrial production index for November 2020, compared to 2019 average, indicates 1.8% growth of the overall industrial production and 0.6% growth of manufacturing.

The seasonal adjustment of the industrial production index for November 2020, compared to October 2020, indicates 2.0% fall of the overall industrial production and 2.2% fall of manufacturing.

The production of small-size enterprises (the number of employees less than 50) that were not included in regular statistical surveys is followed on a sample of the selected units of the section of manufacturing. When the assessment of the industrial production of small-size enterprises of the sample is included, the overall industrial production in November 2020 compared to 2019 average increased by 6.0% and manufacturing increased by 5.2%.

The data on the industrial production in 2020 will be published on the last working day in a month and will refer to the previous month.

 

Starting from 1999 the Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia has not at disposal and may not provide available certain data relative to AP Kosovo and Metohija and therefore these data are not included in the coverage for the Republic of Serbia (total).
