In August 2020, 2 041 building permits were issued, presenting the decrease of 4.4% related to August 2019. Out of the total number of permits issued in August 2020, 84.1% related to buildings and 15.9% to civil engineering. When referring only to buildings, 74.6% related to residential buildings and 25.4% to non–residential ones, while regarding civil engineering, the largest number related to pipelines, communication and electric power lines (76.6%).

According to the permits issued in August 2020 in the Republic of Serbia, building of 1 906 dwellings with average area of 79.7 m2 was recorded. Out of the total number of dwellings in new residential buildings, 13.1% of dwellings will be built in single-dwelling buildings, with average area of 157.8 m², and 85.0% of dwellings will be in buildings with three and more dwellings, with significantly smaller average area of 66.1 m².

Anticipated value of works in August 2020 amounted to 83.9% of totally anticipated value of works. Observed by areas, the greatest construction activity is expected in Srednjebanatska oblast (23.1%) of totally anticipated value of works, followed by Sremska oblast (21.1%), and Beogradska oblast (20.8%), while the shares of other areas are up to 9.9%.
