Industrial production indices, June 2020


The industrial production in the Republic of Serbia in June 2020 increased by 2.6% relative to June 2019, while relative to 2019 average, it decreased by 0.1%. Industrial production in the period January – June 2020 decreased by 1.8% compared to the same period last year.

Observed by sections,

In June 2020 compared with June 2019, the following trends were noted:

  • the section of manufacturing – growth of 4.1%,
  • the section of mining and quarrying – fall of 0.2%.
  • the section of section of electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply – fall of 4.5%,

The data on industrial production by MIGS in June 2020, compared to June 2019, expressed growth in the production of:

  • durable consumer goods, by 14.0%,
  • energy, by 5.5%,
  • non - durable consumer goods, by 4.6%, and
  • intermediate products, energy excluded, by 0.3%,

while fall was noted in the production of

  • capital goods, by 7.0%,

 

Industrial production volume in June 2020, compared to June 2019, expressed the following trends:

  • growth in 17 divisions that in the structure of industrial production participate with 57%, and
  • fall in 12 divisions that in the structure of industrial production participate with 43%.

 

The largest influence on industrial production growth in June 2020 compared to June 2019 had the divisions of: manufacture of refined petroleum products, manufacture of food products, manufacture of pharmaceutical products and pharmaceutical preparations and manufacture of chemicals and chemical products.

The seasonally adjusted industrial production index for June 2020, compared to 2019 average, indicates 2.7% fall of the overall industrial production and 2.5% fall of manufacturing.

The seasonal adjustment of the industrial production index for June 2020, compared to May 2020, indicates 6.9% growth of the overall industrial production and 6.2% growth of manufacturing.

The production of small-size enterprises (the number of employees less than 50) that were not included in regular statistical surveys is followed on a sample of the selected units of the section of manufacturing. When the assessment of the industrial production of small-size enterprises of the sample is included, the overall industrial production in June 2020 compared to 2019 average decreased by 0.4% and manufacturing increased by 3.4%.

The data on the industrial production in 2020 will be published on the last working day in a month and will refer to the previous month.

Starting from 1999 the Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia has not at disposal and may not provide available certain data relative to AP Kosovo and Metohia and therefore these data are not included in the coverage for the Republic of Serbia (total).
