In the period from 22 to 24 June 2020, the regular 68th plenary web Conference of European Statisticians (CES), which gathered the managers of statistical institutes from more than 60 countries and numerous international organizations. The objective of the conference was aimed at encouraging interinstitutional co-operation and making official statistics to face different challenges, particularly in priority statistical areas requiring a combination of resources at international level, as well as constant advancement of methodologies for the production of statistics.
The SORS representatives, Miladin Kovačević, Branko Josipović, Mira Nikić and Siniša Cimbaljević, were active participants to this conference, when their work about how the pandemics influenced the production of statistics and how SORS responded to the new circumstances was presented.
Miladin Kovačević, director of the Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia, was nominated this year board member to the Conference of European Statisticians, made of eight directors of statistical institutes who are selected by CES members, where six key international organizations are represented.
