Industrial production indices, November 2019


The industrial production in the Republic of Serbia in November 2019 increased by 1.1% relative to November 2018, and by 7.6% relative to 2018 average. Industrial production in the period January – November 2019, compared with the same period 2018, decreased by 0.4%.

Observed by sections,

in November 2019 compared with November 2018, the following trends were noted:

  • the section of manufacturing– growth of 1.5%,
  • the section of electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply– growth of 1.3%, and
  • the section of mining and quarrying – fall of 2.9%.

The data on industrial production by MIGS in November 2019, compared to November 2018, expressed growth in the production of:

  • capital goods, by12.3%, and
  • intermediate products, energy excluded, by 2.7%,

 

while fall was noted in the production of

 

  • energy, by 0.6%,
  • non - durable consumer goods, by 2.0%, and
  • durable consumer goods, by 6.5%.

 

Industrial production volume in November 2019, compared to November 2018, expressed the following trends:

  • growth in 18 divisions that in the structure of industrial production participate with 59%,
  • fall in 11 divisions that in the structure of industrial production participate with 41%.

 

The largest influence on industrial production growth in November 2019 compared to November 2018 had the divisions of: manufacture of fabricated metal products, except machinery and equipment, manufacture of chemicals and chemical products, manufacture of basic pharmaceutical products and pharmaceutical preparations, manufacture of wearing apparel and generation of electricity.   

The seasonally adjusted industrial production index for November 2019, compared to 2018 average, indicates 2.2% growth of the overall industrial production and 3.1% growth of manufacturing.

The seasonal adjustment of the industrial production index for November 2019, compared to October 2019, indicates 1.1% growth of the overall industrial production and 0.6% growth of manufacturing.

The production of small-size enterprises (the number of employees less than 50) that were not included in regular statistical surveys is followed on a sample of the selected units of the section of manufacturing. When the assessment of the industrial production of small-size enterprises of the sample is included, the overall industrial production in November 2019 compared to 2018 average increased by 7.5% and manufacturing increased by 9.2%.

The data on the industrial production in 2020 will be published on the last working day in a month and will refer to the previous month.

 

Starting from 1999 the Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia has not at disposal and may not provide available certain data relative to AP Kosovo and Metohia and therefore these data are not included in the coverage for the Republic of Serbia (total).
