Industrial production indices, September 2019


The industrial production in the Republic of Serbia in September 2019 increased by 1.6% relative to September 2018 and in relation with 2018 average, it increased by 3.5%. Industrial production in the period January – September 2019, compared with the same period 2018, decreased by 0.7%.

Observed by sections,

in September 2019 compared with September 2018, the following trends were noted:

  • the section of manufacturing– growth of 1.7%,
  • the section of mining and quarrying– growth of 1.6%, and
  • the section of electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply – growth of 1.1%.

The data on industrial production by MIGS in September 2019, compared to September 2018, expressed growth in the production of:

  • intermediate products, energy excluded, by 6.0%,
  • energy, by 1.2%, and
  • durable consumer goods, by 0.9%,

 

while fall was noted in the production of 

  • non-durable consumer goods, by 1.4%, and
  • capital goods, by 1.9%,
     

Industrial production volume in September 2019, compared to September 2018, expressed the following trends:

  • growth in 20 divisions that in the structure of industrial production participate with 71%, and
  • fall in 9 divisions that in the structure of industrial production participate with 29%.

The largest influence on industrial production growth in September 2019 compared to September 2018 had the divisions of: manufacture of basic metals, manufacture of fabricated metal products, except machinery and equipment, manufacture of beverages, manufacture of rubber and plastic products and manufacture of paper and paper products.
 

The seasonally adjusted industrial production index for September 2019, compared to 2018 average, indicates 0.9% growth of the overall industrial production and 1.2% growth of manufacturing.

The seasonally adjusted industrial production index for September 2019, compared to August 2019 shows 0.7% growth of the overall industrial production and 1.5% growth of manufacturing. 

The production of small-size enterprises (the number of employees less than 50) that were not included in regular statistical surveys is followed on a sample of the selected units of the section of manufacturing. When the assessment of the industrial production of small-size enterprises of the sample is included, the overall industrial production in September 2019 compared to 2018 average increased by 2.7% and manufacturing increased by 6.6%.

The data on the industrial production in 2019 will be published on the last working day in a month and will refer to the previous month. 

Starting from 1999 the Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia has not at disposal and may not provide available certain data relative to AP Kosovo and Metohia and therefore these data are not included in the coverage for the Republic of Serbia (total).
