In June 2019, 1 875 building permits were issued, presenting the increase of 0.1% related to June 2018. Index of anticipated value of works in June 2019 increased by 148.9% relative to June 2018. The increase of anticipated value was mostly affected by permits issued for building the section of the first Long-distance Gas Pipeline Bulgaria – Hungary.

Observed by types of constructions, in June 2019, 79.0% of building permits related to buildings and 21.0% to civil engineering were issued. When referring only to buildings, 65.0% related to residential buildings and 35.0% to non–residential ones, while regarding civil engineering, the largest number related to pipelines, communication and electric power lines (64.7%).

According to the permits issued in June 2019 in the Republic of Serbia, building of 2 355 dwellings with average area of 75.0 m2 was recorded. Out of the total number of dwellings in new residential buildings, 10.6% of dwellings will be built in single-dwelling buildings, with average area of 155.6 m², and 88.2% of dwellings will be in buildings with three and more dwellings, with significantly smaller average area of 64.6 m².

Anticipated value of works of new construction in June 2019 amounted to 77.6% of totally anticipated value of works. Observed by areas, the greatest construction activity is expected in Zaječarska oblast, 65.1% of totally anticipated value of works, followed by Šumadijska oblast (7.7%), Beogradska oblast (5.9%)and Južnobačka oblast (5.0%), while the shares of other areas are up to 1.9%.
