Industrial production indices, June 2019


The industrial production in the Republic of Serbia in June 2019 decreased by 6.1% relative to June 2018 and by 2.5% relative to 2018 average. Industrial production in the period January – June 2019, compared with the same period 2018, decreased by 2.0%.

Observed by sections,

in June 2019 compared with June 2018, the following trends were noted:

  • the section of manufacturing– fall of 7.7%,
  • the section of mining and quarrying – fall of 2.7%, and
  • the section of electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply – growth of 1.3%.


The data on industrial production by MIGS in June 2019, compared to June 2018, expressed fall in the production of:

  • non-durable consumer goods, by 10.0%,
  • durable consumer goods, by 8.4%,
  • energy, by 8.1%, and
  • capital goods, by 7.9%,

 
while growth was noted in the production of

  • intermediate products, energy excluded, by 0.6%.


Industrial production volume in June 2019, compared to June 2018, expressed the following trends:

  • fall in 20 divisions that in the structure of industrial production participate with 61%, and
  • growth in 9 divisions that in the structure of industrial production participate with 39%.


The largest influence on industrial production fall in June 2019 compared to June 2018 had the divisions of: manufacture of refined petroleum products, manufacture of food products, manufacture of machinery and equipment n.e.c., manufacture of beverages and printing and reproduction of recorded media.

The seasonally adjusted industrial production index for June 2019, compared to 2018 average, indicates 1.9% fall of the overall industrial production and 4.1% fall of manufacturing.

The seasonal adjustment of the industrial production index for June 2019, compared to May 2019, indicates 1.3% fall of the overall industrial production and 2.6% fall of manufacturing.

The production of small-size enterprises (the number of employees less than 50) that were not included in regular statistical surveys is followed on a sample of the selected units of the section of manufacturing. When the assessment of the industrial production of small-size enterprises of the sample is included, the overall industrial production in June 2019 compared to 2018 average decreased by 2.7% and manufacturing decreased by 0.7%.

The data on the industrial production in 2019 will be published on the last working day in a month and will refer to the previous month.

Starting from 1999 the Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia has not at disposal and may not provide available certain data relative to AP Kosovo and Metohia and therefore these data are not included in the coverage for the Republic of Serbia (total).
