Issued building permits, May 2019


In May 2019, 1 822 building permits were issued, presenting the increase of 5.9% related to May 2018. Index of anticipated value of works in May 2019 increased by 150.4% relative to May 2018. The increase of anticipated value was mostly affected by permits issued for building the highway section Preljina – Požega and Long-distance Gas Pipeline Bulgaria – Hungary (section 2).

Observed by types of constructions, in May 2019, 76.0% of building permits related to buildings and 24.0% to civil engineering. When referring only to buildings, 62.8% related to residential buildings and 37.2% to non–residential ones, while regarding civil engineering, the largest number related to pipelines, communication and electric power lines (70.9%).

According to the permits issued in May 2019 in the Republic of Serbia, building of 1 801 dwellings with average area of 77.9 m2 was recorded. Out of the total number of dwellings in new residential buildings, 11.7% of dwellings will be built in single-dwelling buildings, with average area of 154.0 m², and 84.4% of dwellings will be in buildings with three and more dwellings, with significantly smaller average area of 65.1 m².

Anticipated value of works of new construction in May 2019 amounted to 91.2% of totally anticipated value of works. Observed by areas, the greatest construction activity is expected in Moravička oblast, 35.5% of totally anticipated value of works, followed by Braničevska oblast (19.6%), Beogradska oblast (11,7%), Nišavska oblast (5,5%) and Južnobanatska oblast (5.4%), while the shares of other areas are up to 4,0%.
