In March 2019, 1 502 building permits were issued, presenting the increase of 1.1% related to March 2018. Index of anticipated value of works in March 2019 increased by 53.6% relative to March 2018.

Observed by types of constructions, in March 2019, 79.1% of building permits related to buildings and 20.9% to civil engineering. When referring only to buildings, 55.6% related to residential buildings and 44.4% to non–residential ones, while regarding civil engineering, the largest number related to pipelines, communication and electric power lines (59.9%).

According to the permits issued in March 2019 in the Republic of Serbia, building of 2 028 dwellings with average area of 74.0 m2 was recorded. Out of the total number of dwellings in new residential buildings, 9.0% of dwellings will be built in single-dwelling buildings, with average area of 147.0 m², and 89.2% of dwellings will be in buildings with three and more dwellings, with significantly smaller average area of 65.0 m².

Anticipated value of works of new construction in March 2019 amounted to 84.6% of totally anticipated value of works. Observed by areas, the greatest construction activity is expected in Braničevska oblast, 43.9% of totally anticipated value of works, followed by Beogradska oblast (11.0%), Južnobanatska oblast (10.8%) and Sremska oblast (6.7%), while the shares of other areas are from 0.1% to 4.5%.
