Indices of producer prices of agricultural and fishing products, January 2019


Producer prices of agricultural and fishing products in in January 2019, compared to the same month of 2018, were decreased by 5.0% average.

Observed by main product groups, compared to the same month of the previous year, the biggest impact on the fall in prices was noted in the groups: Cereals (-6.5%), Animals (-4.4%), Industrial crops (-13, 4%) and Fruit (-26.0%). The low index of Fruit Group is the result of an increased fruit yield, and therefore an increased supply on the market in 2018. Rise of prices was noted in groups: Potatoes (47.6%) and Vegetables (100.2%). The high index of the Vegetables group is the consequence, primarily, of the decreased yield and quality of the onions from 2018.

Producer prices of agricultural and fishing products in January 2019, compared to December 2018, were decreased by 1.9% average.

Observed by main product groups in January 2019, compared to the previous month, the biggest impact on the price decrease was noted in groups: Cereals (-5.1%) and Animals (-4.4%). Fall of prices was recorded in the following groups: Industrial plants (3.9%), Fruit (8.0%) and Potatoes(20.3%).

Producer prices of agricultural and fishing products in 2018, compared to 2017, on average decreased by 4.1%.

Observed by main groups of products, in 2018 compared to the previous year, the biggest impact on the fall in prices was noted in the following groups: Industrial plants (-12.0%), Cereals (-2.2%), Animals (-4,3%) and Fruit (-18.4%). The rice of prices was noted in the groups: Vegetables (25.4%) and Potatoes (31.4%). The low index of Fruit Group is the consequence of the increased yield and therefore supply in the market in 2018. The high index of the Potatoes group is the consequence of the decreased yield and quality of the potatoes from 2018.
