In December 2018, 1 468 building permits were issued, whereof 75.6% related to buildings and 24.4% to civil engineering. Total number of issued permits for buildings and for civil engineering in 2018 amounted to 19 484, presenting the increase of 5.5% relative to the previous year.

According to the permits issued in December 2018 in the Republic of Serbia, building of 1 892 dwellings with average area of 71.8 m2 was recorded. Out of the total number of dwellings in new residential buildings, 92.5% of dwellings will be built in the buildings with three and more dwellings, and 6.4% will be in single-dwelling buildings. According to the issued permits, since the beginning of 2018, recorded was the building of 21 509 dwellings, being the increase of 9.8% relative to 2017.

Index of anticipated value of works in December 2018 increased by 65.9% relative to December 2017. Value of new construction works amounts to 86.4% of totally anticipated value of works in December 2018. The greatest construction activity is expected in Južnobanatska oblast (27.0%) of the anticipated value of new construction, followed by Beogradska oblast (25.5%), Mačvanska oblast (11.1%) and Šumadijska oblast (6.3%), while the shares of other areas are up to 4.9%.
