External trade, November 2018


The overall external trade in the Republic of Serbia for the period January - November 2018 amounted to:

   - USD 41574.7 million - which was an increase of 17.2% compared to the same period 2017;

   - EUR 35087.0 million - which was an increase of 11.2% compared to the same period 2017.


The value of exports amounted to USD 17840.3 million, which was 14.4% increase when compared to the same period last year, while the value of imports amounted to USD 23734.4 million, which was 19.4% increase relative to the same period last year.

Expressed in Euros, the value of exports amounted to EUR 15054.6 million, which was the increase of 8.6%, compared to the same period last year. The value of imports amounted to EUR 20032.4 million, which was 13.3% increase when compared to the same period last year.

The deficit amounted to USD 5894.1 million, which was an increase of 37.4% in relation to the same period last year. The deficit expressed in Euros amounted to 4977.7 million, which was an increase of 30.7% compared to the same period last year.

The export - import ratio equalled 75.2% and was lower if compared to the same period last year when it was 78.4%.

The external trade in the reference period noted the highest level with the counties with which we have signed agreements on free trade. European Union member countries account for 63.5% of total external trade.

Our second major partner refers to the CEFTA countries, since our gained surplus in external trade amounted to USD 2081.5 million, resulting mainly from the exports of agricultural products (cereals and produces thereof and various sorts of drinks), oil and oil derivatives, iron and steel and metal products. Our exports in the referent period amounted to USD 3 078.1 million, while the imports were USD 996.6 million. The export– import ratio equalled 308.9 %. Expressed in EUR, exports amounted to 2 599.5 and imports to 842.8 million (surplus amounted to EUR 1 756.7 million and export – import ratio equalled 308.4%).   

In November 2018, value of exports amounted to USD 1 645.7 million, presenting the increase of 7.5% relative to the same month last year. Value of imports amounted to USD 2 219.4 million, being the increase of 7.0% compared to the same month 2017.

Expressed in EUR, value of exports was EUR 1446.0 million, i.e. the increase of 10.7% relative to November 2017 and value of imports was EUR 1 950.3 million, being the increase of 10.2%, relative the same month last year.
