Industrial production indices, November 2018


The industrial production in the Republic of Serbia in November 2018 increased by 7.6% relative to 2017 average and in the period January - November 2018, relative to the same period 2017, industrial production increased by 2.1%. In November 2018, manufacturing recorded the increase of 9.8% relative to 2017 average and comparing the period January – November 2018 with the same period 2017, increase of 2.7 % was noted. Industrial production in the Republic of Serbia in November 2018 decreased by 1.0% compared to November 2017.

Observed by sections,

in November 2018 compared with November 2017, the following trends were noted:

  • the section of manufacturing – remained on the same level,
  • the section of electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply– fall of 4.1%, and
  • the section of mining and quarrying – fall of 4.7%,

in the period January – November 2018, relative to the same period 2017, the trends were noted as follows:

  • the section of manufacturing– growth of 2.7%,
  • the section of electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply – growth of 2.0%, and
  • the section of mining and quarrying – fall of 4.5%.

The data on industrial production by MIGS  in November 2018, compared to November 2017, expressed fall in the production of:

  • non - durable consumer goods, by 6.4%, and
  • energy, by 0.6%,

while growth was noted for

  • capital goods, by 4.8%,
  • durable consumer goods, by 3.4%, and
  • intermediate products, energy excluded, by 1.7%

 

Industrial production volume in November 2018, compared to November 2017, expressed the following trends:

  • fall in 13 divisions that in the structure of industrial production participate with 53%,
  • growth in 16 divisions that in the structure of industrial production participate with 47%.

 

The largest influence on industrial production fall in November 2018 compared to November 2017 had the divisions of: manufacture of food products, generation of electricity, mining of coal, manufacture of wearing apparel and manufacture of textile and textile products.     

The seasonally adjusted industrial production index for November 2018, compared to 2017 average, indicates 0.8% growth of the overall industrial production and 2.3% growth of manufacturing.

The seasonal adjustment of the industrial production index for November 2018, compared to October 2018, indicates 1.3% fall of the overall industrial production and 1.4% fall of manufacturing.

The production of small-size enterprises (the number of employees less than 50) that were not included in regular statistical surveys is followed on a sample of the selected units of the section of manufacturing. When the assessment of the industrial production of small-size enterprises of the sample is included, the overall industrial production in November 2018 compared to 2017 average increased by 7.6% and manufacturing increased by 9.8%.

The data on the industrial production in 2018 will be published on the last working day in a month and will refer to the previous month. 

Starting from 1999 the Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia has not at disposal and may not provide available certain data relative to AP Kosovo and Metohia and therefore these data are not included in the coverage for the Republic of Serbia (total).
